1. Download the app & create your account
Covalish is available for iPhones and Android. Download the app (links below) and create your account.
2. Tell us about yourself
Your private profile helps us get to know you and get a sense of whom you’re likely to get along with. Nothing in your private profile is ever shared with other users or any third-parties.

3. Create your public profile
Your public profile is what we’ll send to people we match you with. Make sure your profile photo shows your face, as that’s what people will use to find you at the bar, coffee shop, juice shop, etc., when it’s time to meet up.

4. Fill out the availability questionnaire
Eventually Covalish will integrate with your calendar to detect potential openings in your schedule when you might be available to meet someone new. For now we’re scheduling meet-ups for 8:30am and 6:30pm. Click “Availability” on the app’s home screen to let us know what days of the week you’re generally available at any of those times.

5. Your 1st meet-up
We strive to offer new users their first meet-up within 48 hours (the suggested meet-up may be scheduled for several later, but we try to reach out within 48 hours). You’ll get a message in the app asking if you’re available to meet someone on a specific day, time, and place. If you say ‘Yes’, we’ll send you the profile so you know who to look for. FYI–we match up men with men, and women with women.

6. Let us know about any changes
If you need to cancel or are running late for a scheduled meet-up, just message us directly in the app.

7. Meet and chat!
Show up on time, find the other person (their profile photo should help), and introduce yourself. Because they’ve done this before, they should open the app right away and have one of the questions ready so you have something to talk about right off the bat.

There are more than enough questions to drive the conversation for as long as you want to meet, but feel free to let the conversation wander and flow naturally. If you two end up going off on a long tangent, that’s great! And when that conversation reaches its natural conclusion, just say, “Oh, should we do the next question?” and you don’t have to worry about any awkward pauses.
If you two click, you’ll end up spending much more than 30 minutes chatting. If you’re not really clicking with the person, feel free to say you’ve got a meeting or appointment you need to get to.
8. Let us know how it went
After your meet-up we’ll send you a message asking you to let us know how it went. If you both tell us you’d like to get together again, we’ll make it happen.

9. Keep meeting new folks
It’s still early days for Covalish, but we’re currently aiming to offer everyone a new meet-up at least once or twice each month.
